The École Nationale Supérieure des Travaux Publics (ENSTP) held an international event on May 14, 2022, focused on integrating the BIM process into university education. Participants from both the public and private sectors, along with academics, discussed the significance of BIM in training future engineers.
The Director of ENSTP inaugurated the event, emphasizing the importance of incorporating BIM into educational programs. Several speakers, including Mr. Kermiche and Ms. Sassine, explored various aspects of BIM, from digital transformation in construction to engineer training.
Ms. Sassine described ESTP Paris's approach to gradually teaching BIM, while Ms. Guibert discussed the construction sector's shift to digital and the use of digital twins.
Industry professionals like Mr. Bayasli from the Gitra Group and Mr. Torres from the Zigurat Institute showcased specific BIM Management platforms and training courses. The training of BIM Managers at AMENHYD was also highlighted.
Recommendations included integrating BIM into initial training, training educators, launching research projects, and creating specialized master's programs in BIM.
The afternoon featured two workshops: one on using 3D scanners and another on Masters in BIM Management, focusing on teamwork, information management, and technological innovation.
