Presentation of the ENSTP Preparatory Classes Department
Welcome to the Department of Preparatory Classes in Science and Technology for the Grandes Écoles of the ENSTP. Our department is dedicated to training an academic elite, ready to take on the scientific and technological challenges of tomorrow.
Objectives of our Training
The aim of the Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Écoles system is to contribute to the training of a national elite capable of leading the country's development and promoting scientific and technological progress. Over two (02) years, this system offers training equivalent to the first cycle of higher education.
During their studies, students develop a solid foundation of general knowledge, enabling them to:
- Acquire a working methodology based on organisation, investigation, personal initiative, and perseverance.
- Cultivate autonomy and communication skills, both written and oral, while strengthening their ability to think and reason.
- Adapt to different problem situations.
- Gradually become accustomed to the demanding challenges likely to arise in the course of their subsequent training and in the exercise of their future professions.
Organisation and Assessment of Studies
Students in the Classes Préparatoires benefit from comprehensive teaching support from their teachers, encompassing:
- Lectures: Course sessions given by qualified teachers to deepen students' knowledge.
- Tutorial work (TD): Small group sessions for reinforcing concepts through exercises and discussions.
- Practical work (TP): Hands-on experiments to apply theoretical knowledge practically.
These activities, supervised by our experienced teaching staff, provide CP students with a comprehensive education, fostering a thorough understanding of subjects and preparing them for future academic challenges.
Assessment System
- Continuous assessment (attendance, homework, short written tests, projects, presentations, etc.)
- Supervised homework (DS)
- Final examinations (FE)
This system provides a comprehensive and balanced assessment of student progress.
